PUMA’s Orbita Ultimate PL will debut at the Summer Series before becoming the official ball for fixtures in 2025/26
The Premier League has officially unveiled the PUMA Orbita Ultimate PL as the match ball for the 2025/26 season, marking the beginning of a new era in partnership with global sports brand PUMA.
Set to make its on-field debut during the Premier League Summer Series in the United States this July, the new ball will be showcased to a global audience ahead of the league’s kickoff on the weekend of 16 August.
The PUMA Orbita Ultimate PL is engineered for precision and performance. Featuring 12 equally sized panels, the ball ensures uniform weight distribution for optimal balance. Its high-frequency moulding enhances durability, while enlarged and deeper seams contribute to improved aerodynamics and shape retention throughout competitive play.
The unveiling comes alongside the launch of a new campaign titled “Have a Ball,” aimed at inspiring players of all levels to enjoy the freedom, confidence, and creativity that comes with having the ball at their feet.
As part of the long-term collaboration between the Premier League and PUMA, the partnership will also focus on developing grassroots football. Initiatives will include support for Premier League Kicks, community programmes targeting youth and women’s football, international outreach, and anti-discrimination campaigns under No Room For Racism.
Premier League Chief Commercial Officer Will Brass welcomed the partnership, stating:
“The launch of the new ball, which will be seen in play for the first time during the Premier League Summer Series, marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We are thrilled to welcome PUMA as a key partner in our efforts to enhance the Premier League, both on and off the pitch.”
Richard Teyssier, Vice President of Brand & Marketing at PUMA, added:
“By emphasising the emotional and liberating aspects of playing football, the ‘Have a Ball’ campaign highlights how the simple act of just having the ball can bring immense joy. A professional footballer controls the ball for around 109 seconds per game—so every second counts.”
In addition to the match debut, community coaching programmes will be held across New Jersey, Chicago, and Atlanta during the Summer Series. PUMA will also host in-store activations, including events at its flagship New York City location, to further engage fans and promote football development at the local level.
The PUMA Orbita Ultimate PL will be the centrepiece of Premier League action in 2025/26, delivering elite performance on the pitch and supporting inclusive football off it.
