FIFA, in collaboration with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 and FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, has officially opened registration for the Qatar 2025 FIFA Volunteer Programme.
During a media and community briefing held at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum, organisers extended an invitation to individuals eager to contribute to these major events in November and December to submit their applications.
Around 4,000 volunteers will be recruited across 30 different roles to support 20 functional areas such as media and tournament operations, spectator services, hospitality, accreditation, and more.
LOC CEO Jassim Al Jassim said: “Volunteers have been the heartbeat of all major tournaments we’ve organised over the last decade, playing a crucial role not only in event operations but also in sharing our rich culture and renowned hospitality with fans and guests. The upcoming FIFA Arab Cup and FIFA U-17 World Cup will be no exception, and carry forward the volunteering legacy left by the FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup.
“We look forward to working with Qatar’s dynamic volunteering movement to deliver unique experiences and stand-out tournaments later this year. We’ve no doubt it’ll once again prove one of our most successful delivery partners.”
“I hold a special connection to this movement. I started my career in mega-sporting events as a volunteer. It’s inspiring to see how this spirit and tradition continues to grow, and I’ve no doubt the volunteers will make these tournaments truly extraordinary,” added Al Jassim.
Haya Al Noaimi, Executive Director of Administration at the LOC, said: “We’re pleased to launch yet another opportunity for Qatar’s volunteering community to get involved in our delivery of two important tournaments in the country’s events calendar. Over the years, we’ve built a dynamic and exciting volunteer base that’s contributed to the country’s growing culture of volunteerism, which extends to all sectors and events and acts as the backbone to every success achieved.”
FIFA and the LOC are calling on dedicated and energetic individuals to help make this year’s tournaments in Qatar truly memorable. Volunteers serve not only in operational capacities but also as cultural ambassadors representing the host nation.
To apply, candidates must be Qatar residents aged 18 or older, possess a solid command of English (with Arabic or other languages considered an asset), and be available throughout the duration of their assigned tournament, including for mandatory training sessions. Previous volunteering experience isn’t required, but a collaborative spirit and enthusiastic attitude are essential.
Applications will be accepted over a two-week period, with the selection process starting in June. Interviews will be held at the Volunteer Recruitment Centre in Lusail Stadium.
Those who’ve already volunteered at previous FIFA events in Qatar will be exempt from interviews.
One application will suffice for both tournaments, and applicants may indicate their preference. However, due to overlapping schedules, volunteers will be assigned to only one event based on their availability, relevant skills, and operational demands.
Volunteers will receive a range of benefits, including:
- Comprehensive role-specific training
- Official volunteer uniform
- Meals during working hours
- Free access to public transport to event locations
- Exclusive souvenirs and memorabilia
- Opportunities for personal growth and lasting friendships
- A chance to be part of an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience
